Presidential squabble, gobble, gobble.

Clamshells open, fingers fly, good ones here, bad ones there.

It wasn’t all that long ago that I happened to be at the local grocery store, and just so happened to witness the craziest thing. There was a customer who had opened 5 or 6 cartons of blueberries and was picking out all of the bad ones from the carton that he had decided to take and was exchanging them for better ones that were in the other boxes.

This is only a rather disgusting story by itself, but if I add a few more details it becomes much more interesting. It’s not the sort of thing I would do, but from a consumers point of view it's somewhat understandable. However, this particular individual also happens to operate a local media outlet. Which begs the question, what kind of news does he/she choose to broadcast/publish? If he/she only chooses the juiciest berries, would it not also be plausible that the intended audience never really sees the whole picture?

Coincidentally the final Presidential debate will air tonight. It will be an hour and half spent talking about nothing. Yet, you can’t say that government doesn’t have a role to play. It’s just that nobody really cares about infrastructure, until it’s in a state of disrepair or about unemployment numbers until they’re out of work.

Having said all that… it’s thanksgiving weekend… so relax, eat well, and buy frozen blueberries next time you decide you’d like to make a pie.
